Author Guidelines
SCOPE OF THE JOURNAL
The ChemClass Journal is published by the Chemical Society of Nigeria, Zaria Chapter. The journal is devoted to publishing
original research in Pure and Applied Chemical Sciences including Biochemistry, Environmental and other related sciences.
MANUSCRIPTS
Papers for publication in the journal should original and not published previously in another journal, in any other language. The articles must be typed double-spaced on A4-size paper (210 x 297mm). A diskette containing the article prepared in Microsoft
word ‘97, 2000, 2003 or Corel Wordperfect must be submitted when the paper is accepted.
ORGANISATION
Manuscripts for publication should be arranged in the following sequence: Title page, Abstract, Introduction, Experimental,
Results, Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgement and References.
Illustrations
Tables, Figures, Chemical structures etc. must be prepared on separate pages. Graphs should be plotted using Microsoft Excel,
Lotus 123 or SPSS packages, Chemical structures should be drawn using ChemWindows or any compatible MS-software, and
maps should be properly scanned and save either as a word or JPEG document.
References
References should be listed on a separate sheet. Follow the method of literature citation in most chemistry journals e.g J.F. Iyun (1986)
J. of Chem. Soc. Nig., 2: 52. References sited in the text should bear the Arabic number and listed at the end of each sentence e.g. Kinetic evidence of the metal participation of ……… has been discussed elsewhere [2] or [2,3].

Submission of manuscript
Three copies of manuscript written in English should be submitted along with a processing fee of N1500.00 for contributors from Nigeria and $20.00 for contributors from other countries. Payment may be made in cash or bank draft to Chemical Society of Nigeria Zaria Chapter. The manuscript should be forwarded to:

Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
- The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
- The submission file is in Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
- When available, the URLs to access references online are provided, including those for open access versions of the reference. The URLs are ready to click (e.g., http://pkp.sfu.ca).
- The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
- The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
- If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review) have been followed.
