Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word or RTF file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review) have been followed.

Author Guidelines

Thank you for your interest in submitting to the WIBG Journal. We appreciate your following the guidelines below:


1. We accept finished work only--please do not send us works in progress.

2. All submissions of articles must include an abstract of <300 words and three keywords that describe the work in the first page of the document. Other submissions, such as poems, stories, or artwork, may omit the abstract and keywords.

3. Articles should not exceed 8,000 words, including notes and bibliography.

4. Submissions should be double-spaced, including notes and references, with page numbers and indented paragraphs. Illustrations and tables should be labeled and captioned accurately.

5. Submissions should be in Times New Roman, 12-point font, left-justified text. Font for creative submissions may stray from this if necessary.

6. Authors should use the latest Chicago style guide for bibliography and citations.

7. Author name , contact information, a brief biographical note <100 words, affiliation, if applicable, and document title should appear on a sheet separate from the article or work. The first page of the article or work should include its title only to ensure double-blind reviewing.

8. This is an international journal so please explain all references that may not be clear to an international audience.
