Getting Started

Please be sure to follow the steps on our Sign Up page.

Before you can begin using the Scholarly Exchange® service you must submit a journal proposal, have it accepted, and sign the service agreement. We're happy to answer any questions you have about the application process. Just contact us!

Domain Name Setup

Each journal or society must register and maintain its own domain name. The journal always retains full control of of this URL.

Some notes about domain names:

The domain name and the journal title may need to be different if a domain you'd like to use has already been registered. To create a unique domain, you can always add 'journal' to the domain name or abbreviate portions of the journal title in the domain name. The Web site whois.domaintools.com "Lookup" search feature is a resource that allows you to look up URLs to determine whether they are in use or available.

Please note, many places where you buy a domain name also offer hosting or offer the domain as a package with their hosting service. Scholarly Exchange® service provides your hosting so only the domain needs to be purchased.

These services are free for the first year while you get your journal started and then $750 USD per year thereafter.
